It is with such sadness that we let you know that Mike Thompson passed away this morning, March 26th. Mike was a member of the Victoria Horseshoe Club for over 40 years and was instrumental in the building and maintenance of our ever expanding facility. Mike and June were both hands on members and were always on hand for anything that needed doing, from cooking, repairs, building, painting and organizing events. Mike was the man to beat on the courts for several years and was an extraordinary coach for new members and for those who wanted to improve their game. Mike was loved by many and respected by all.
Mike helped out with horseshoes throughout BC and was involved with BC Horseshoe Association and was on the Hall of Fame Committee.
Mike was predeceased by June in 2015. Mike's children, their spouses and his grandchildren are all in our thoughts.
